Dolores M. (Lambries) Melichar

Dolores M. Melichar, 94, of Manitowoc passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Shady Lane.

Dolores was born on March 23, 1930 in Manitowoc to the late Lawrence and Cecilia (Sobieszczyk) Lambries. Dolores was a graduate of Lincoln High School. On June 27, 1950, she married Richard Melichar. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2022. Dolores was a devoted and dedicated wife, mom and listener and cherished taking care of her family.

Dolores was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. At the age of 50 years old, she went back to school and obtained her diploma for a Nurse’s Aide and worked at Shady Lane until her retirement. She loved what she did and found helping people to be extremely rewarding.

Dolores is survived by her children: Robert Melichar, David (April) Melichar, and Debra (Tim) Meyer; grandchildren: David Melichar Jr., Drake Melichar, Joshua Meyer, and Alicia Meyer; sister: Elizabeth Musial; and sister-in-law: Kate Lambries. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Dolores was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Cecilia Lambries; husband: Richard Melichar; brothers and sister: Norman (Sally) Lambries, Lawrence Lambries, Alvin (Bernice) Lambries, Elaine (Gerald) O’Neil, infant brother, John; parents-in-law: Anton and Rose Melichar; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Norbert Musial, Albena (George) Orth, Viola (Larry) Jensen, Mary Melichar, Raymond Melichar, and infant brother-in-law, Tony Melichar.

A funeral service to celebrate Dolores’ life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi-Marshall site, 2109 Marshall St., with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Dolores will be laid to rest at Calvary Mausoleum.
